Chronic venous disease (CVD) is a condition with a complex pathophysiological mechanism and a broad etiopathogenesis. Although diagnosis is often straightforward, it can be challenging in certain cases. Doppler ultrasonography is extremely helpful in this regard. Therapy must take into account both the stage of the disease and the patient’s overall status. Treatment measures should be initiated and adapted in the therapeutic context, with particular emphasis on eliminating venous reflux.
